IMG-20160719-WA0008On this 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Church celebrates the World Day of Migrants and Refugees. As we read in the Gospel, Jesus invites the two disciples of John to “come and see” where he was staying. His place of stay was definitely not a comfortable one; yet he made a beautiful living with what he had. Isn’t that because he came to do the Will of God?

The life journey of Migrants and Refugees is a challenging one. Several reasons have put them in a situation of searching for a place to stay and make a comfortable living in the family. Wouldn’t it be the best opportunity for us as disciples of Jesus to share with them whatever is possible for us? We are grateful for the generous service of the people of good will to them. It gives them a “come and see” experience as Jesus did it to John’s disciples. Sharing in the same responsibility, we too are able to accomplish the Mission of Jesus who came to do the Will of the Father who sent him to this world. Therefore, let us follow Jesus, our Teacher, and be His genuine disciples in the world of today.
