“That they may all be one…”

IMG-20160719-WA0008We are entering into the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This need for unity in the Church of Christ is encouraged by our Lord in His prayer to the Father. He prayed, “that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you…” (Jn 17. 21)

In the Scripture readings of the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are invited to contemplate on the mission statement of Jesus, “the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.” A true believer of Jesus is the one who follows Him daily. Repentance is the best way to embrace Jesus and be a witness to His good news. As we pray for all our Christian brothers and sisters, we strive to walk in the footsteps of Jesus that we may live in perfect unity and peace.
